Tool tips · Assessing yourself

A development plan you wrote, not one you were given

Pick the domain, set the actions, tick them off as the weeks go.

Laurie Griffin··1 min read·Written for coaches

Your weakest domains, in blocks with dates you choose, tracked against what you actually did.

When

Set it once, then tick things off as the weeks go.

Why

Effort and outcome sit side by side and are never added up. Working hard and seeing nothing move is a different problem from doing nothing and seeing it move anyway.

The mistake most coaches make

Choosing your weakest domain automatically. Sometimes the right move is to make a strength into something the team can be built around, and a plan you are interested in gets done while a plan you ought to do does not.

Close the gap

  • ·Lowest domain
  • ·Biggest headroom
  • ·Hardest to stay motivated on

Build the strength

  • Highest domain
  • Less headroom
  • Becomes what you are known for
Two ways to choose

In practice

A block that ends with real effort logged but no movement in Coach Trends does not say you failed. It says the method might be wrong rather than the effort, and suggests changing how rather than how often.

Development plan

Open it and try it on one session

You will not get anything out of a single entry, and that is the honest answer. Development plan is inside the platform. Setting up takes a couple of minutes and needs no payment details.
