Tool tips · Assessing yourself
How you actually deliver, as opposed to what you planned
Log the session you ran, not the session on the sheet.
A thirty-spectrum profile of how you actually deliver, from instruction through to guided discovery.
When
After a session you thought went well, and after one you thought did not.
Why
Most coaches believe they ask more than they tell. This is where that belief meets a number.
The mistake most coaches make
Logging the plan. The plan is what you intended at 6pm; the session is what survived contact with eleven nine-year-olds and a waterlogged corner. Only the second one tells you anything about how you coach.
- 1
Planned: 20 min possession game
- 2
Delivered: 8 min, then a rondo
- 3
Reason: numbers dropped to seven
- 4
Pattern: this happens most Thursdays
In practice
Run it after a good session and a bad one in the same fortnight. The difference between the two profiles usually explains the difference between the two sessions.
Delivery Assessment
Open it and try it on one session
You will not get anything out of a single entry, and that is the honest answer. Delivery Assessment is inside the platform. Setting up takes a couple of minutes and needs no payment details.
